The national governing body of cricket in India has notified that West Indies will visit India to play 3 T20 international matches in Feb 2022. The 3 T20I bilateral series will begin with the first T20I match at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack on 15 Feb 2022, then the other two T20 international matches will be held at Dr. Y. S. Update: All three t20 matches will be played at Eden Gardens stadium, Kolkata.
Under the leadership of Kieron Pollard, West Indies will visit and play 3 T20I series, on the other hand, Indian skipper Virat Kohli will lead the team India. West Indies have taken part in the 144 T20 international matches out of which they got the victory in 62 matches, lost 70 matches, 3 tied, and 9 without any result. As of Oct 2021, the Indian team has taken part in 145 T20 internationals and achieved victory in 89 matches, lost 49 matches, 3 tied, and 4 without any outcome.
India and West Indies head to head in T20I have fought 17 times out of which India won 10 times and West Indies only 6 times and one match ended without any outcome. The winning percentage of India is far better than West Indies in T20I against each other but the Indian team will not take Windies easy because they have already impressed many cricket lovers by winning the T20 World cup 2 times.
In ICC T20 international team ranking, the Indian team is at the 2nd position which is far higher than West Indies as they are at 9th position. But West Indies players are very well aware of the Indian pitch conditions as most of their players have been part of the IPL. India has to work hard and give their 100% in order to defeat the West Indies.
