The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket South Africa has confirmed that India is going to visit South Africa for playing 3 One Day International bilateral series in the month of January 2022. The first One Day will take place on 19th January 2022 at Boland Park, Paarl, then the 2 and 3 match is scheduled on 21 and 23rd January 2022 at Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town.
South Africa and India played the last ODI against each other in 2018 when India visited South Africa and defeated the Africans very badly in 6 ODI matches and captured the series by 5-1. Virat Kohli was the Man of the Series of that 6 ODI matches series. The last ODI between India and South Africa was played at Centurion on Feb 16 2018 where India won the match by 8 wickets and Virat Kohli was the Man of the Match.
Once again, Virat Kohli is ready to lead the Indian cricket team and will want to take over the 3 ODI bilateral series. Currently, India is sitting at the number 4th position for the ICC ODI team ranking whereas South Africa stands at 5th position, there are not enough differences between them as South Africa is just one position down in the ODI rating table.
The Indian batting side has top-class batsmen to face the African pacers like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the top 2 and 3 positioned batters in the ICC ODI player ranking. Quinton de Kock, the captain of the South African team is at the number 10th position in ICC player rating, but India should not forget that Quinton de Kock has a very nice track record against India in ODI.
Both the teams have talented and experienced bowlers also, Kagiso Rabada is one of them who stands at the number 10th position in ICC ODI bowling ranking, on the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah from the Indian side is at number 7th position. Both have the speed, swing, and capability to bowl yorkers in the death overs. Finally, it is going to be a wonderful tour for both the nations and cricket lovers.
