The United States, one of the associate members of the ICC, will travel to Zimbabwe in the month of June to take part in the Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 competition. The United States has appeared in the World Cup Qualifier 9 times but has never been able to make a spot in the World Cup. For the first time, they participated in the Qualifier round in 1979 and their best came in 2007 when they finished at number 7th position in the World Cup Qualifier.
The United States, along with the Netherlands, Zimbabwe, West Indies, and Nepal, is grouped in Group A. The team's journey in the Qualifier round will commence with a match against West Indies at Takashinga Cricket Club, Harare on June 18, 2023. Subsequently, they will face Nepal in their second match on June 20, 2023, at the Takashinga Cricket Club, Harare. On June 22, 2023, the United States will contest their third match against the Netherlands, and they will meet Zimbabwe on 26 June at Harare Sports Club, Harare.

The United States will travel to Zimbabwe in order to compete in the World Cup Qualifier under the captaincy of Monank Patel along with Kevin Darlington as a head coach. Kevin Darlington, a right-arm pacer, played domestic cricket for Guyana in the West Indies from 1992 to 2002. Aaron Jones, a 28-year-old cricketer, will assume the role of vice-captain and will assist Patel, while the squad will boast the inclusion of esteemed players from the Qualifiers. Ali Khan, who took the most wickets with 16, including an impressive 7/42 performance in a crucial match against Jersey, might not be able to play in the first two matches of the Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
Presently, the United States is sitting at the number 16th position in the ICC ODI team ranking and their best is the 16th spot which they achieved in 2022. As of June 2023, they have participated in 45 One Day Internationals out of which they got victory in 22 matches while facing defeat in 21 matches.
