Holkar Cricket Stadium is one of the well designed cricket grounds of India. This stadium is situated in Indore which forms the part of Madhya Pradesh. The seating capacity of this ground is 30,000 people thus making it one of the biggest stadiums of India. Initially it was called as the Maharani Usharaje Trust Cricket Ground but later on Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association decided to change its name and call it Holkar Cricket Stadium. It has been named after the Holkar Dynasty and a very popular cricket ground of the state. The stadium is known for its supreme quality floodlights that make a difference to the cricket ground. That is why day and night matches can easily be played here without any problem. Most of the domestic matches of the state are held here along with some of the Ranji Trophy matches as well. It was this cricket ground when Virendra Sehwag made his first highest score of 219 in any one day internationals. The different areas of this stadium have been named after the famous cricket players. This includes the name of the pavilion which is named after CK Naydu and Mushtaq Ali. Similarly dressing rooms, stadium gates and stands have also been named after famous cricket personalities.
