The 20th match of the CPL 2020 was played between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Guyana Amazon Warriors on August 30, Sunday at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad in evening. Guyana Amazon Warriors captain Chris Green won the toss and chose to bowl first.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots dropped Chris Lynn in this match. St Kitts and Nevis openers made only 7 runs opening partnership and K Powell got out early on 2 runs to Green. Ben Dunk also scored 19 runs. Wicket-keeper batsman D Ramdin also made not out 37 runs on 30 balls. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots scored 150 runs in their 20 over. It was a target of 151 runs for Guyana Warriors. Chris Green took 2 wickets in his 4 over.
Guyana Warriors openers failed to begin a good inning and B King got out on 14 and Kevin Sinclair got out on 5 runs. Shimron Hetmyer also got out on 1 run. It was a match winning partnership between wicket-keeper batsman Nicholas Pooran and Ross Taylor for 128 runs. Nicholas Pooran played brilliant innings and changed game for Guyana Amazon Warriros. He scored first century of CPL 2020. Pooran made not out 100 runs on just 45 balls and Ross Taylor made not out 25 runs. Guyana Warriors chased the target in 17.3 over. Guyana Warriors won the match by 7 wickets.
Jon Russ Jaggesar took 2 wickets for St Kitts and Nevis. Nicholas Pooran was selected as player of the match for his brilliant match winning century. He looked happy with his performance and for the partnership he made with Ross Taylor, in his post match interview. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots captain Rayad Emrit appreciated the performance by Nicholas Pooran as the pitch was tough but he batted like exceptionally well.
