The 7th match of the CPL 2020 was played between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and St Lucia Zouks on August 22, Saturday at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots captain Rayad Emrit won the toss and elected to field first.
The openers of St Lucia Zouks A Fletcher and Cornwall gave brilliant start to team and they made an opening partnership of 73 runs. A Fletcher scored 46 runs in 33 balls. M Deyal and N Zadran also scored 30 and 28 runs respectively. Afghani M Nabi brilliantly finished the St Lucia Zouks innings and scored not out 35 runs in just 22 balls and helped team to get a strong total of 172 runs in their 20 over. Sohail Tanvir and J Jaggesar took 2 wickets each for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. It was a target of 173 runs for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to win the game.
Chris Lynn failed to give a good start to team and got out early. He scored 14 runs only. Evin Lewis was playing goods but he got out on 29 runs to off spin bowler Roston Chase. Wicket-keeper batsman D Ramdin played good cricket and balanced the team during middle over of the game. He made 46 runs in 35 balls. At the end, S Cottrell showed good shots and made not out 26 runs in just 11 balls but it was too late. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots managed to score 162 runs only in their 20 over and St Lucia Zouks won the game by 10 runs.
S Kuggelejin took 4 wickets while Roston Chase took 3 wickets for St Lucia Zouks. Mohammad Nabi was selected as man of the match for his brilliant performance in the game. He took 1 wicket and also scored important 35 runs.
