The 3 rd or last match of the T20 International series between England and Australia was played on September 8, Tuesday at The Rose Bowl, Southampton. England sealed the series by 2-0 and it was the opportunity match for England to white wash Australia by 3-0. M Ali was the captain of England in this match. Australian captain Aaron Finch won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Jos Buttler was not playing in this match therefore T Banton opened the inning with Jonny Bairstow. Banton got out early on just 2 runs but Jonny Bairstow made brilliant half century. He made 55 runs in just 44 balls. Malan made 21 runs and captain M Ali made 23 runs. Joe Denly finished the inning of England and made not out 29 runs in just 19 balls. England made 145 runs in their 20 over and it was 146 runs needed for Australia to win the match.
Mathew Wade and Aaron Finch opened the inning for Australia. Wade who was playing his first match of the series got out early on 14 runs but captain Finch made 39 runs. Marcus Stoinis also made 26 runs but got out to T Curran. Glenn Maxwell disappointed again in the series and made only 6 runs in 11 balls. He got out to Adil Rashid. It was looking difficult for Australia but then Mitchell Marsh and A Agar played good innings. They made not out 46 runs partnership and helped Australia to win the match. M Marsh made not out 39 runs in 36 balls and A Agar made 16 runs in 13 balls. Australia finished the game in last over and won the match by 5 wickets having 3 balls to spare. Adil Rashid bowled brilliantly for England and took 3 wickets in his 4 over by giving just 21 runs.
