The 2nd match of the T20 International series between South Africa and Australia was played on February 23, Sunday at Port Elizabeth, in South Africa. Quinton De Kock was the captain of South African team, and Aaron Finch was the captain of Australian team. South African captain won the toss and decided to bat first.
South African openers gave a solid start to the team and made 60 runs for the 1st wicket in just 6 overs. Captain De Kock scored the most 70 runs for South Africa and led the team from the front. Van Der Dussen also scored 37 runs and helped the team to get a total of 158 runs in 20 over. Kane Richardson took the most 2 wickets for Australia.
Chasing 159 against South African bowling was not easy, and a little bit cheesy target but Australian opener David Warner showed his experience and fought for his team. He scored 67 runs in 56 balls. Captain Finch failed to score good runs and got out early on just 14 runs in 12 balls. South African bowlers bowled in good areas and controlled the match. Pace bowler Ngidi for South African team took the most 3 wickets for the team and made it difficult for Australia to win the game. South African bowlers bowled exceptionally well and won the match for South Africa by 12 runs.
Except Warner, no Australian batsmen could do well for Australian team in the match, and as a result, Australia could make a total of 146 runs only in their 20 over and left short by 12 runs. Captain De Kock was awarded as the player of the match for his brilliant batting performance and excellent captaincy. South Africa leveled the 3 match series by 1-1. Captain looked happy with team performance and also looked forward to the decider match.
