Established in 2023, the Texas Super Kings is a T20 squad that takes part in the shortest format of a cricket tournament in America. Dedicating to the cricket spirit of Dallas, they were among the six esteemed franchises chosen to be part of the inaugural season of Major League Cricket 2023. The MLC 2023 is a T20 cricket league that will run from 13 July to 30 July 2023 in America.
Prior to the March 19, 2023 draft, the Texas franchise made a significant announcement regarding its collaboration with the esteemed Chennai Super Kings. Effectively, the ownership rights of the Texas Super Kings were acquired by the Chennai Super Kings. Notably, Anurag Jain and Ross Perot Jr will jointly serve as the co-owners of the Texas Super Kings.
Grand Prairie Stadium, located in Grand Prairie, Texas with a capacity of 15,000 audiences to take in, is the home ground of the Texas Super Kings. Initially, the ground was built for the 7000 audiences and now it is enlarged and made available for 15,000 people.
Under the leadership of Faf du Plessis, the former South African skipper, the Texas Super Kings will enter the tournament. On the other hand, the former New Zealand skipper, Stephen Fleming will be seen in the role of a head coach for the Texas Super Kings. Eric Simons and Albie Morkel will take charge as Assistant Coach. Russell Radhakrishnan has been appointed in order to serve as a team manager. Tommy Simsek is included as a Physiotherapist whereas Lakshmi Narayanan will serve as a High-performance analyst. Three United States players have been added by the franchise i.e., Saiteja Mukkamalla, Rusty Theron, and Cameron Stevenson.
Ambati Rayadu from India and David Miller from South Africa have been included in the Texas Super Kings as a batter, on the other hand, the franchise has also signed Dwayne Bravo from West Indies, Daniel Sams from Australia as an all-rounder. Deven Conway, who became the hero in the final of IPL 2023, will take charge as a wicketkeeper-batter. In the bowling department, the main bowler Mitchell Santner from New Zealand will join Cameron Stevenson from the USA and Gerald Coetzee from South Africa.
In the journey of the MLC 2023, the Texas Super Kings will face Los Angeles Knight riders in their first T20 competition on 13 July in Grand Prairie Stadium, Texas. The second T20 of the Super Kings will be played with Washington Freedom on 16 July in the same stadium. They will then meet MI New York in the 3rd T20 competition on 17 July in the same venue. The remaining fourth and fifth T20 will be played against Seattle Orcas on 21 July and San Francisco Unicorns on 24 July at Church Street Park, Morrisville. The Texas Super Kings under the banner of CSK will look to fix their place in the top4 spots for qualifying playoffs.
