Rains spoils the day as Bangalore end up 3rd in IPL table - The 55th match of the Indian Premier League was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils. This was the match being played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. This match was important for the home team as a win in this one would lead them to the top 2 of the table. After winning the toss in this match Royals decided to field first.
Quinton de Kock and Shreyas Iyer gave the team a good start scoring 55 runs for the 1st wicket. Iyer after scoring 20 runs lost his wicket in the 7th over of the game. De Kock scored 69 runs for the team and lost his wicket in the 12th over of the game leaving the team at 110/2. Yuvraj Singh once again was a flop for his team as he scored only 11 runs in this match and lost his wicket to young spinner Chahal. The Bangalore bowlers started picking up wickets and the Delhi team was moving into trouble but Captain Jean Paul Duminy scored 67 runs in 43 balls. He remained not out and took the score of team to 187 runs in 20 overs.
The score of 188 was a tough one but not in the stadium of Bangalore. While chasing the score Bangalore played only 1 over before the rain interrupted the proceedings later leading to the cancellation of the match. Both the teams shared a point each and Royals ended the league stage at the 3rd position in the table.
