Canterbury bowlers guides their team to a victory against Wellington - The 6th match of the Georgie Pie Super Smash series was played in Seddon Park in Hamilton. This match was played between Wellington and Canterbury. It was a match in which the Canterbury was coming a fresh from a win against the Northern Districts and was hoping that the momentum continued from the previous match. In the match after winning the toss the Wellington decided to bat first.

The Canterbury bowlers continued their prowl with the ball as they once again gave a good start to the team taking early wickets in the match. The Wellington batting first lost too many wickets in the first 6 overs of the game. The Canterbury bowlers restricted the team to a score of 28/3 in just 6 overs. Later on the Wellington batsmen Tom Blundell and James Franklin stitched together a good partnership which saved the team from losing more wickets. They scored 27 and 35 runs respectively while batting. It was the only partnership that was built by the batsmen as rest of the teams fell once again quite cheaply. The Canterbury bowlers were successful in restricting the team to a score of 110 after 20 overs. Andrew Ellis was the key bowler once again as he took 5 wickets in the match giving away 14 runs.

Canterbury had a very simple task at hand as the bowlers were successful in restricting the opposition to a pretty low total. The batsmen from Canterbury did find some difficulty in the middle order as the Wellington bowlers were able to take some wickets in the middle. Peter Fulton and Aiden Blizzard were the two men who made sure that the hiccups were just for name sake as they guided their team home scoring 29 and 45 runs respectively. With this win the Canterbury once again earned 4 points from the match.
