Awards

Johannesburg born but based in Wellington, Elliot left his native at the early 2001 looking for new careers and finally got it on 2008, when he was named in the 13 member squad for the first test against New Zeland. He won the test cap in the final test after Oram was injured. A compact and correct batsman and a swing bowler with a measured run-up, and enjoyed a few more good seasons with the production run of 361 runs with 45.12 including two of his best career centuries. His claim to fame was his 115 against Australia at their own ground was the greatest of all. He impressed his performance with 2009 champions trophy semi final, following Oram’s retirement in test career. That was the second chance again given to him against Elliot and utilized properly by him to cement the place in the team.
