Considering the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Bangladesh and New Zealand cricket authority has mutually agreed to organize a 3 ODI series in September 2023. So the New Zealand ODI squad will visit Bangladesh prior to the World Cup for Bangladesh vs New Zealand ODI series 2023. All the matches of the Ban vs NZ ODI series 2023 will be played at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.
The ODI series between Bangladesh and New Zealand will commence its journey with the 1st match on 21 September, afterward, they will meet each other on 23 September for contesting the 2nd ODI, and ultimately, the last match of the ODI series will be conducted on 26 September on the same stadium.
Kane Williamson will take the responsibility of captain for the Kiwis under the guidance of Gary Stead as a head coach. On the other hand, Bangladesh will enter the series under the captaincy of Shakib Al Hasan and his head coach Chandika Hathurusingha. In terms of ICC ranking, New Zealand looks in a better position with the 3rd rank whereas Bangladesh is struggling in its form with the 7th position.
In terms of head-to-head in ODI, Bangladesh, and New Zealand have met on 38 occasions where New Zealand emerged as the dominating team by winning 28 matches and Bangladesh could win 11 matches. So, it's going to be very interesting and thrilling how both teams will perform in the practice series before the World Cup 2023.
