Sri Lanka's cricket team is preparing to travel to Bangladesh in May 2022 for a bilateral series that would include two test matches. SLC has hired Chris Silverwood, a retired England right-arm pace bowler, as the men's national team's head coach for a two-year contract. Sri Lanka tour of Bangladesh for 2 test series in May will be his debut series in command. Sri Lanka is currently in the 7th position of the World Test Championship point standings, while Bangladesh is in eighth place. All the matches of the Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka test series 2022 will be played at different venues. The first test match of the series will be played from 15th to 19th May 2022 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong; on the other hand, the second match will be conducted from 23rd to 27th May 2022 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka.
The Sri Lanka cricket team will land in Sri Lanka on the 8th of May and then they will play a two days practice match with Bangladesh on the 11th of May 2022, before the start of the test series. Bangladesh will be looking to achieve strength from an international series in South Africa, where the Warriors are now facing the Proteas in Durban in the inaugural Test. Considering the World Test Championship, Sri Lanka failed to achieve a win outside the home as they lost both Tests against India but they won both the test matches against West Indies at home.

The last time Sri Lanka visited Bangladesh in 2017/18 to play 2 test matches series where Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh and captured the series by a 1-0 margin. Bangladesh has never been able to win any test series against Sri Lanka whether it is held at home or away from home, so it would be interesting to watch how Bangladesh will perform against Sri Lanka to achieve victory in the month of May in 2022.
