The Afghanistan cricket team is ready to go to Bangladesh to contest the 2 T20I bilateral series between Afghanistan and Bangladesh. It has been confirmed by the Afghanistan Cricket Board that they will play 2 T20I matches series in Bangladesh which will commence on 3 March and conclude on 5 March 2022. Both the matches will be played at the same venue i.e, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka.
The first match of the Ban vs Afg T20 series 2022 will begin on 3 March, then the series will conclude with the last match on 5 March 2022. Currently, Mohammad Nabi is the captain of the Afghanistan T20 squad and most probably the team will visit Bangladesh under his leadership, on the other hand, Mahmudullah will lead Bangladesh.
Currently, the Afghanistan T20 squad is at the number 7th position in the ICC T20 team ranking, on the other hand, Bangladesh is listed at 10th position. These numbers show that Afghani T20 players have performed well as compared to Bangladeshi players in the last few years. Both the teams have got talented players who can change the condition of the match at any time, Afghanistan’s bowler Rashid Khan is one of them.
In terms of past history of the T20I between both the teams, Afghanistan has dominated Bangladesh as both the teams faced each other in 6 T20 international matches in which Afghanistan won 4 matches with the winning percentage of over 66. Overall, Bangladesh won 43 T20I out of 123 with 34% winning percent while Afghanistan has achieved a triumph in 60 matches from their 89 matches with 67% winning percent which is far better than Bangladesh.
So, it is going to be interesting to watch how Afghanistan players will perform in the homeland of Bangladesh in the Ban vs Afg T20 series 2022.
