Hamilton Masakadza is a player who has been the real backbone of the Zimbabwe cricket team since his debut. He was born in the year 1983 on 9thh of August. He is currently playing in the team as the batsman and was previously an opener in the first class cricket but came in the national team as a first down batsman. He made the record of becoming the youngest player to score a century which was later broken by Mohammad Ashraful. Hamilton made his test debut for Zimbabwe in the year 2001 against West Indies. It was this match where he gained his entire name as he played a 119 run innings which was a match saving one. The Zimbabwe team had already been under the trail after a poor 1st innings and Masakadza came in to score a century in the second innings and save the test.

His elite carrier in the world of cricket went through many tough challenges. After a world class debut hi took a gap from cricket to complete his studies. Later he returned to the world cricket and scored his debut ODI fifty against England. In the year 2006 according to the cricket pundits he was the best batsmen in the Zimbabwe team for the South Africa tour. His capabilities of scoring quick runs were always questioned and this is the reason why his presence in the ODI squad was questioned. After a lean patch he was dropped from the World Cup team in the year 2010. He came back strong in the team. In the year 2014 he became one of the most talented batsmen for the team in both tests and ODI format of the game.
