It consisted of only solitary one day international that was played between the two countries at Belfast on August 27, 2015.The match was rain hit and the numbers of overs were reduced. Australia opting to bat first started solidly as Joe Burns hit Craig Young of Ireland for three fours and raced quickly to 26 runs. On the other end David Warner was scoring in a prolific manner and both added 100 runs in 88 balls. Although Young was ineffective in his first spell but in the second one he was able to take the wicket of Joe Burns due to the good carry from the wicket.

Australia lost the momentum as the off spinner Andy McBrine was introduced into the attack. Batsmen could manage only 44 runs in the next 10 over and things started looking up for Ireland. Tim MURTAGH joined the party in the last over as he dismissed David Warner who scored 84 runs and also won the man of the match award. He also snuffed out George bailey for 7 runs. The incoming batsman Watson steadied the ship and scored 26 runs however the rain gods started pouring into the stadium. Australia scored 222 runs from 40.2 over. Due to bad weather, the target for Ireland was revised and they had to score 181 runs of 24 over which looked like a tall ask.

Start of the Ireland Inning was tremendous as William Port field; the captain of Ireland flicked the delivery of the star bowler Michael Starc to the boundary however he was clean bowled by a deadly Yorker from the same bowler. The next to go was Paul Stirling who was not able to connect the bat with the ball in the next over. Arrival of ED JOYCE and NIALL O BRIEN at the crease gave something to the spectators to cheer about. They added 86 runs of 76 bowls. The partnership was broken by GLEN MAXWELL who cleaned up Joyce. O BRIEN holed out to burns at the long on when it looked as if Ireland will romp home to the target. Stuart Thompson did try to hit couple of sixes but the tail didn’t wag as it was lapped up by Cummins and Nathan Coulter-Nile. In the end, Ireland’s folded at 157, giving victory to Australia. David Warner got the man of the match award due to a dominating knock of 84 runs that gave a solid foundation to the innings.
