Finally, Sunrisers Hyderabad got a victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets at their home ground Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, to stay alive in the tournament. Well, early in the match RCB batted first and managed to put 160 runs on their board and finally Virat Kohli (C) played like as he always do, scored 67 runs in just 41 balls but Yuvraj Singh (21 opf 25 balls) went early after after hitting 2 fours and 1 six in the match. However, AB de Villiers yet again produced some quick runs in the back end of the first innings as he scored 29 runs in just 17 balls, with the strike rate of 170.59.
After some poor match Bhuvneshwar Kumar came back with a bang in the match by claiming 2 important wickets with the economy rate of 6.75 and he bowled a outstanding last over for SRH to prevent RCB to go any further. Parvez Rasool, Karn Sharma and Irfan Pathan also supported him well by taking 1 wicket each. Well, it is true that Dale Steyn didn’t get any wicket but he conceded only 23 runs in his allotted 4 overs.
Hyderabad made a little change in the batting order and that clicked very well, as David Warner opened the innings with Shikhar Dhawan in place of Aaron Finch and they both made an magnificent opening partnership to get the 2 much needed points for SRH. David Warner scored 59 runs of just 46 balls and Shikhar Dhawan supported him well with a well made half century in just 39 balls. The rest of the job was done by Naman Ojha (W) (24 runs of 20 balls), Darren Sammy (C) (10 runs of just 4 balls) and Aaron Finch (11 of 9 balls).
Well, only Varun Aaron got 2 wickets for RCB but he was a bit of expensive as he gave 36 runs in his 4 overs. The other bowlers of RCB absolutely failed to perform in the match. The Man of the Match award was given to David Warner for his match winning batting performance. Yes Bank Maximum Sixes award was given to Virat Kohli for hitting 4 sixes and Kanna Keep Calm award goes to Bhuvneshwar Kumar for taking the wicket of AB De Villiers.
