Mumbai Indians got their much needed win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their away match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad with 7 wickets to spare. Early in the match SRH won the toss and elected to bat first and they managed to score 157 runs by losing 3 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Once again Hyderabad was not successful with their top order as they lost early wickets of Shikhar Dhawan (C) (11 of 11 balls) and Lokesh Rahul (10 of 13 balls). But Aaron Finch played a steady innings for SRH to put up a fighting total against MI and David Warner supported him really well with his quick much needed half century. They both scored 68 of 62 balls and 55 of 31 balls respectively.
Only Lasith Malinga took 2 wickets in the first innings and all other bowlers of MI bowled a wicket less spell as Lokesh Rahul was run out by Rohit Sharma. The young man Jasprit Bumrah bowled a decent spell as he gave only 24 runs in his limited 4 overs.
Mumbai chased down the quite good total in a ground like Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium comfortably as Lendl Simmons and Ambati Rayudu played extraordinary innings to keep the hope for MI in the tournament. Simmons displayed some responsible batting display as he scored 68 runs in 50 balls and Ambati Rayudu supported him well by scoring exactly the same runs in 46 balls. However, in the back end of the second innings Rohit Sharma scored the winning runs with a boundary. He scored 14 runs of just 6 balls and won the match for MI with 8 balls left.
Anyway, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a brilliant spell yet again to keep the purple cap with him. He took 2 wickets by just considering 21 runs but that couldn’t help SRH to win the match as other bowlers of Hyderabad were very much failed to support him.
The Man of the Match award was given to Ambati Rayudu for bringing up the most wanted win for MI with amazing batting display.
