Rajasthan Royals got a remarkable win over Royal Challengers Bangalore at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The audience of Chinnaswamy Stadium experienced an epic chase from Royals as they defeated RCB by 5 wickets in a one of the most entertaining battle of royals.
Even Yuvraj Singh’s magnificent performance couldn’t help RCB to get their much needed win as James Faulkner and Steven Smith gave an incredible performance to reach the massive target of 191 runs. However, Virat Kohli (C) the Bangalore skipper won the toss and elected to bat first. Once again RCB struggled with their top order, they lost three early wickets of Virat Kohli (C) (4 of 9 balls), Chris Gayle (19 of 25 balls) and Vijay Zol (16 of 14 balls). But after that Yuvraj Singh and AB de Villiers just brutally assaulted the RR’s bowlers to set up a huge score of 190 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Yuvraj scored 83 runs of 38 balls and made all the criticism about his formidable price of 14 Cr. go away. AB de Villiers supported Yuvi really well as he played a 38-ball 58 brilliant knock.
However, Kane Richardson took two wickets by giving 43 runs in his limited 4 overs. James Faulkner, Pravin Tambe and Rahul Tewatia shared 3 wickets equally.
Well, all the drama were started in the back end of the Rajasthan’s innings as they got a unbelievable performance from Steven Smith and James Faulkner after losing couple of quick wickets. Smith scored 48 runs in just 21 balls and Faulkner played a match winning knock of 41 runs in just 17 balls. Early in the innings Ajinkya Rahane and Karun Nair started the innings for RR steadily. But Rahane went just when the RR’s innings were looking stronger; he scored 24 runs in 22 balls.
Karun Nair yet again scored some valuable runs for Rajasthan, he went back to pavilion after scoring 56 runs in 39 balls. Now here comes the twist in the game as Yuvraj Singh also gave an outstanding performance with the ball. Shane Watson (C) and Stuart Binny were taken early by Yuvraj, the both gone by just scoring 1 run. After that, Steven Smith and James Faulkner came to the ground with the bat and won the game for Royals with 7 balls to spare.
Overall, Yuvraj Singh claimed 4 wickets by considering 35 runs, but his individual performance went in vain in front of the team game of Rajasthan Royals. The other wicket was taken by Yuzvendra Chahal as he gave a decent performance yet again. That’s it, James Faulkner hooted the Man of the Match award from Yuvraj Singh by his dramatic match winning batting and bowling performance.
