Match 14 of IPL 7 has been kicked off at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi between RAJASTHAN ROYALS and ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE. RR won the battle between the royals as they defeated RCB by 6 wickets in a very low scoring match.
RCB batted very poorly in the first innings as they were able to score only 70 runs by losing all the wickets in between 15 overs. This was the lowest total of IPL so far. RR’s bowlers performed brilliantly as Pravin Tambe took 4 wickets with the economy rate of 5.00, Kane Richardson also gave a classy performance as he took 2 wickets of RCB, Rajat Bhatia, Shane Watson, Stuart Binny claimed shared one wicket equally. Talking about RCB’s batting only 3 players of RCB were able to reach the double figure as Virat Kohli (C) the skipper scored 21 runs of 25 balls and Mitchell Starc, Ravi Rampaul scored 18 runs of 16 balls and 13 runs of 13 balls respectively.
While chasing the target of 71 runs RR lost their 4 wickets. Sanju Samson and Karun Nair went early by scoring only 8 runs of 12 balls and 2 runs of 16 balls respectively. But Shane Watson (24 of 24 balls) and Ajinkya Rahane (23 of 19 balls) healed the early blow. RR took only 13 overs to reach the target. Among the bowlers of RCB Mitchell Starc really showed his class as he took 2 wickets in his allotted 4 overs by just considering 29 runs. Yuzvendra Chahal of RCB the young talent gave a decent performance yet again as he took 1 wicket with the economy rate of 5.67. Anyway, this was the biggest loss for RCB so far in IPL 7.
However, The man of the Match award was given to Pravin Tambe for his amazing bowling performance, he really cleaned up the amazing batting line up of RCB.
