Pakistan met the host Bangladesh in a match that was important for both the teams. This match acted as the decider of the faith of winning team. Pakistan having lost to India had to win the remaining matches to qualify for the semis. While the host had to win just to ensure that some hope remains for them. Pakistan won the toss in Mirpur and decided to bat first. They successfully posted a mammoth score of 190 runs. The star of the batting was Shehzad who scored 111 runs off just 62 balls. His century innings had 10 4’s and 5 6’s in it. Malik and Afridi too chipped in with bat to ensure that they reach a target that is unattainable by the Bangla Tigers. The bowling of Bangladesh was weak apart from that of Shakib and Razzak who were highly economical.

Chasing the score of 190 always was a tough task for the Bangladeshis but the openers provided a strong start before both the openers fell in quick successions. Shakib tried to find the way back in the game but soon it was too much for him to do as the middle order failed to perform yet again giving Bangladesh their third loss in the super 10 stage. Pakistani’s stopped the Bangladeshi’s for a total of 140. Umar Gul the pacer played a vital role in it as he took 3 wickets. Though Shehzad was announced the player of the match for his century.
