The Otago Volts vs. Central Stags HRV T20 Match will take place on 12th January, 2014. This grand battle between the Volts and the Stage will be held at the University Oval Stadium in Dunedin, New Zealand. The University Oval Stadium is also the home ground of the Otago Volts. This stadium is not really huge but it can still easily accommodate about 6,000 people. The timing of this match is 4:00 pm in the evening. Don’t miss this match if you support the volts or the stags. This match is just before the semi finals and can decide the fate of the two teams. Their survival in the HRV series might depend on this match.
The Otago Volts are captained by Aaron Redmond and coached by Vaughan Johnson. The volts are a pretty old domestic cricket team of New Zealand. In fact they were founded in 1864. Their winnings and honors make a very long list. They have won the Plunket Shield or the Shell Trophy thirteen times. They are also two time champions of the State Shield and two time champions of the HRV Cup. In fact Otago Volts was the team which took the HRV cup home last year. They are therefore one of the strongest contenders of this year’s HRV cup as well.
The Central Stags are no less. They have Jamie How as their captain and Alan Hunt as their coach. They are not ancient like the Otago volts but that doesn’t raise any concerns on their credibility. They were founded in the year 1950 and they have also won the HRV cup two times. They are also nine time winner of the Plunket Shield or Shell trophy and four time winner of the Ford Trophy or Shell Cup. They are an equal match to the Volts. This is what makes this match one of the most anticipated matches of the HRV series.
