How to Bring More Users to Cricketwa

We are now seeing good contribution from our members and now we should think about bringing more and more users to our website and that is the main reason of creating this thread, i.e. to take ideas from our existing members.

So, Kindly suggest the best feasible solution to bring more and more users. It can be anything no matter how big or small your suggestion is. Please do not hesitate to share.

Although there is no prize money yet decided on the valuable suggestion given by members for this but who knows you get surprised in the end.
If cricketwa website is currently known or viewed by 100 people, then there must be only 10 who have registered on it and out of those 10, only 5 will actively participate in forum. So your worry is not why those 5 did not participate. Your worry is why those 90 did not register or how to increase that 100 to 1000 and so on.

I am being very frank and straight forward on this.
Believe it or not but according to me, initially you need to spam a bit to increase the number of users or build an audience any where (if you do not want to spend money doing marketing for this). Until you have audiences, words doesn't get spread out. Until words are not spread out, more people will not know about it.

Example:
Catch hold of people who participates in cricket related discussion from espncricinfo, cricpass, crictime... Spend some time, engage them, let them know about this website and it's contest. Let them decide whether they really want to register or participate or not.
Request them to spread out this to their friends as well.
Such things happen a lot on Cricpass and Crictime. At the most, the admin will only block your id there, nothing more. But if you successfully add someone as crazy as me, it's worth priceless. :)

My personal suggestion in this regard is that we should have little patience in this regard. Your or now I can say (Being member of this site for long enough) our site is new and it will take some time to create buzz in the industry. In my personal view following things are needed to be done.

1)      Graphics of the forum need to be done well and has to be crisp. (Yes very important, you see famous sites at once, and you say aha!)

2)      A display board showing current status, scores, news, and trivia related to different matches being played.

3)      More Number of contest, like best article, best writer etc. Original content need to be brought in. Not the one, which is being written as what is happening in the matches.

4)      Group discussions, they are the soul of forums.

5)      Advertising what we are doing and how members can be benefited.

6)      Making a social app of yours own site. Every site now has their apps for the different operating systems. You should also consider it in a serious manner.  

In my view these changes are need in urgent basis and then see how good your site works. And when once, let’s 100 people recognizes the craze of your site, crowd will come flow in. Till then all hopes for the best.

All the 6 points mentioned by Skyshot is worth noting but they work only on a large scale and will take lot of time to implement on  the website.
As I understand, we need to grow this forum first with more users flow so that it helps making this forum popular and to add more revenue as well.
If time is more, then yes definitely we can go with the above 6 suggestions but what if results are needed in shorter period of time.
When time is not there, you need to act as quick as you can. And if you can spend money, there are 100 ways to advertise and bring in users.
If money needs to be saved, you need time and engagement with the people is necessary to make them aware of the benefits of becoming a user of cricketwa.
Until you prove that they are getting something on cricketwa, users will not get interested because there are far better forums and websites related to cricket running since decades.
You need to grasp the audience first and then make amendments and enhancements on your website. If you do all the enhancement on the website first and then start calling the users, after sometime they will get bored that nothing new is happening here. Start building audience and products or feutures side by side, that really helps as well as interaction remains healthy.

_I don't go with the slaying of above user.  I think my friend you did not read all the points carefully and if you did, then surely you are imposing your frustration over me, considering what has happened in the last week. And don't consider it as I am saying against you, forget what happened, and even if you wish to continue that, I don't have problem, it is just that I don't want to mess up the things here. If you are really good person, than please do not operate with two names on this site, with two different names, I don't like this type of competition.

_Now coming to the main topic, I don't see any wrong in it, as webmaster just asked us to tell what we can do. Yes I do agree with you that these things will require lot of money, but not that much that we cannot do anything right now.

_And where i was wrong in saying that we need more good content. If you think that, the data provided by us is really good, then my dear friend you are mistaken somewhere. Considering that you may have visited other forums related to cricket, they have much interesting matter to discuss. See just writing what people can look at the score card is no where justified. The forum should consider, things like 'What any team can do to improve their performance etc.

Site building requires time and you need to build a brand value. For example, how many times you will skip Wikipedia and see other site related to same information. You need to build trust and brand value here. Shorter results are always bad and they are just for short duration.

Making apps for your website is not a big task today, hope my above friend knows that better, as he work in IT company. 

I think here webmaster should reply, as what he wanted from us, because in my view, what i state above is for long terms planning.

@pankaj or @admin: I really do not know as to who this guy is with the name @skyshot.
Speaking frankly, if he doesn't stop taking to a user in person or doesn't stop to say what isn't true, It will be sad to speak from my part that this will be my last week of contribution from my side for Cricketwa.
I know that whether I contribute or not doesn't make that difference because in long run, there will be many users on this site and you will definitely grow.

I don't understand why you guys are fighting with each other on forum.. I asked you to provide your personal suggestions, not to fight with each other's suggestions. Avoid such issue friends.

Contribution from both of you, is really useful for the site and I can see it being the webmaster of this website. It will be really bad if one leaves the site.

I really don't like this thing personally as well.
I don't understand what is his problem?
Why is he after me? I never taunted him and he keeps coming back to me again and again. I never said anything to him. It was my personal suggestion to webmaster, why is he coming back to me when he doesn't even know me?
And please ask him not to taunt me or provoke me in getting worse, just a humble request.

As per me what about email marketing?
You can spread your message through email marketing at least.
Not a bulk email but 50-50 emails every hour will do no harm to you, isn't it?
Moreover, it doesn't require any money, just your little time.
Even if you get 10 members out of 1000 emails sent, that is a good conversion rate. 
I have seen lot of websites doing their promotions through email and it really worked for them. Do give this idea a thought, please.
If not because you have a fear of getting your email id marked as spam, create a different email address and first try with that.
Even if that doesn't work then Facebook is the only better option.
