India is now #1 Team in One Day International ODI Cricket Format

So, after long time we are seeing India at #1 position for ODI Format of cricket. Also they have won the India England odi series with 1 match remaining. India should also win the last match to increase their overall ranking points which will help in increasing the gap.

One of the reason for India being on top is because South Africa lost the series against New Zealand.

@suresh: I strongly feel that India will surely win this Champions Trophy as they picked up young and performing squad.
India have not gone for big names this time and have only picked up players who are young and in form.
It's also a good indication that India is keeping in mind that they have a team to prepare for World Cup 2015.

India is currently number 1 in ODI and the only reason behind this is good performance from Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina.
These 3 players have batted well last year and brought victory in most of the matches for India.
Bowling performance has been  good as well and Bhuvneshwar Kumar has really taken the role of opening bowling attack.
Now Irfan Pathan is in good touch and he can provide quality swing along with Kumar and create pressure on opponent during the coming Champions Trophy.
Ishant Sharma too will have big role to play. Spin department looks quite secure currently.
What looks like a matter of concern is opening batsmen. Dhawan will be making his debut along with Vijay hopefully who is not in great touch in IPL.
