Who would have ever dreamt that they will get to see Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting opening for the same Team.
Long Live IPL.
4th April, 2013: 2nd match of IPL 6 season between RCB and MI and Sachin and Ponting opens up 2nd innings.
Two players full of class and technique got down together at the Chinnaswamy stadium to chase down a total of 157 runs in 20 overs.
These two together have played more than 350 test matches and nearly 30,000 runs.
What an opening pair it is? Who would have dared not to watch this pair walking, batting, shaking their hands while hitting boundaries, taking quick singles even at the age close to 40.
Hats Off to both Sachin and Ponting.
As soon as the 2nd inning of the match started, every people started talking about the Legend pairs taking the field, Sachin and Ponting. They were full of praises but when the game ended Mumbai Indians were are the losing end.
Thanks to Gayle and Vinay for superb batting and death bowling.
People then realized that IPL or  T20 is not about Class or being Legend, it's all about hitting the ball as powerfully as none others and score runs quickly.
People who were full of praises turned out to be critics just after one and a half hours repeatedly saying that slow opening pairs resulted in the loss of the game.
It's high time now that again Mumbai Indians will have to revise the homework and look for a new opening pair.
Again and Again, season after season, Pollard is not being utilized as per his caliber. Let's hope Mumbai Indians don't come back strongly in the next match as it is against CSK and I am a CSK fan. :)

These two legends had given a fair opening start but both got out unfortunately... Karthik was fantastic... Pollard was too late to come...

What you call a fair opening start in T20 format was below par.
59 was the score after 10 overs for Mumbai Indians when they were chasing the score of 157 which is not at all good.
Now coming back to their dismissal which you say unfortunately was actually great fielding effort from RCB to run out Tendulkar and great stumping by Arun Karthik.
Yes, Mumbai Indians are not utilizing Pollard and this is the main reason for their loss.
