Sad news for all the cricket lovers in Bangladesh. T20 world
cup that is scheduled to be next year in Bangladesh, is now in doubts and the
reason for this is that the level of progress on the grounds is well behind the
schedule.
As per the policies of International Cricket Council (ICC)
the venues in any hosting nations needs to be ready well before 6 months from
the date of hosting of the tournament. But as there is lack of progress on the
two important grounds ‘Cox’s Bazaar and Sylhet’, IC has raides concern
regarding hosting of the T20 tournament tin Bangladesh.
But on the other hand, the Bangladesh authorities have
assured the IC that they will be able to complete he construction on time. Nazmul
Hassan who is the board director of BCB has assured ICC that the grounds will
be ready as per the schedule. He said that yes we started little bit late but
the construction and renovation in the stadium is as per the schedule now. ICC
also raised concern over the availability of the lodging facility available
nearby these stadiums. In Dhaka matches are not possible because of low lodging
facilities available all around it.
Let’s hope, BCB is able to complete the venues on time and
Bangladesh people enjoy the event.
