West Indies Demolish Pakistan in their 2nd World Cup match - The 10th match of the World Cup 2015 was played between West Indies and Pakistan. It was a Pool B match played in New Zealand. Both the teams had lost their 1st matches in the tournament and were looking to make a comeback in the tournament. In this match after winning the toss Pakistan decided to field first.

Batting first Chris Gayle lost his wicket early scoring only 4 runs. West Indies were reduced to 17/1 in 5 overs. Dwayne Smith too didn’t last long as he scored 23 runs before losing his wicket. Darren Bravo and Marlon Samuels stitched an partnership together to take their team to a score of 103. Marlon Samuels after scoring 38 runs lost his wicket. Later Denesh Ramdin came in and along with Bravo continued scoring some useful runs for the team. Bravo in the middle of the innings was retire hurt and had to leave the field after scoring 49 runs but Ramdin continued and he moved on to score 51 runs. West Indies were at 194/4 in 40th over when Ramdin left. The stage was set to explode and the lower order batsmen made full use of it. Lendl Simmons scored 50 off 46 balls while Andre Russell scored 42 runs of 13 balls to take the team to a score of 310 at the end of 50 overs.

It was a huge score for a batting line who was struggling to find form. The team had a devastating start to the innings losing 4 wickets at the score of 1 run. Jerome Taylor ran through the top order and the big wicket of Misbah-ul-Haq too fell in the 11th over leaving Pakistan at a score of 25/5. Sohaib Maqsood and Umar Akmal stitched a partnership as they both scored 50 and 59 runs respectively before losing their wicket. Once they fell the end was evident as Pakistan lost all their wicket at 160 runs losing the match by 150 runs. Andre Russell also took 3 wickets and was named as the man of the match. West Indies with this win opened their account in the points table while their still remain a long walk for Pakistan in this world cup.
