The 10th match of the CPL 2020 was played between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Lucia Zouks on August 23, Sunday at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad at 5:30 PM (LT). St Lucia captain Darren Sammy won the toss and elected to bat first.
The openers of St Lucia Zouks got out early. The Zouks lost their 4 wickets under the score of 50. Middle-order batsman Roston Chase played brilliant inning of 66 runs in 51 balls and helped team to put a fighting total of 144 runs on the scoreboard. Mohammad Nabi also scored 27 runs in 24 balls. Imran Tahir bowled brilliant spell and took 3 wickets by giving just 22 runs in his 4 over. Odean Smith also took 2 wickets for Guyana Warriors.
It was a target of 145 runs to win the match for Guyana Amazon Warriors. B King and C Hemraj opened the inning for Guyana Amazon Warriors and both the openers got out early in the inning. Their key player Shimron Hetmyer also got out early to Scott Kuggeleijn on 4 runs. Ross Taylor also got out to Nabi on 1 run. Nicholas Pooran played well for team and scored 68 runs in 49 balls and helped team to take close to the target. Keemo Paul also scored 20 runs but they could not make it up to the target. Guyana Amazon Warriors made 134/8 in their 20 over and left 11 runs short to the target.
St Lucia won the match by 10 runs. Scott Kuggeleijn took 3 wickets by giving 24 runs in his 4 over and made it possible for St Lucia Zouks. Kesrick Williams and Chemar Holder also took 2 wickets each. Roston Chase was selected as player of the match for his brilliant batting performance of important 66 runs and for economical bowling efforts.
