The 3rd or final match of the 3 match T20 International series between England and Pakistan was played on September 1, Tuesday at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester. Babar Azam was the captain of Pakistan T20 team and Eoin Morgan was the captain of England team.
English captain Morgan won the toss and chose to field first. On batting first Pakistan’s opener Fakhar Zaman got out on 1 to M Ali. Captain Babar Azam made 21 runs but got out to Tom Curran. Haider Ali played good inning with Mohammad Hafeez and made a 100 runs partnership for the 3rd wicket. Haider Ali made brilliant half century. He made 54 runs in just 33 balls. Mohammad Hafeez also played brilliant inning and made not out 86 runs in just 52 balls. His inning helped Pakistan team to put a very good total. Pakistan made 190 runs in their 20 over with the loss of only 4 wickets. Chris Jordan was the most successful bowler for England. He took 2 wickets by giving 29 runs in his 4 over. M Ali and Tom Curran also took 1 wicket each. It was a huge target of 191 runs for England.
English opener Jonny Bairstow got out on duck to Shaheen Shah Afridi. T Banton scored 46 runs in 31 balls. English 1st order batsman D Malan also got out early on 7. Captain Morgan got run out early on 10. M Ali showed fighting spirit and made brilliant 61 runs in just 33 balls. He got out to Wahab Riaz. Sam Billings also made 26 runs but England left 6 runs short to target. England made 185/8 in their 20 over.
Pakistan won the match by 5 runs and levelled the series by 1-1. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Wahab Riaz took 2 wickets each and helped Pakistan to defend the target. Mohammad Hafeez was selected as player of the match.
