WPL 2024 Schedule

The Women’s Premier League 2024 is the domestic T20 cricket tournament that is intended for finding young talented women cricket players. The WPL T20 made its debut on 4 March 2023 from the DY Patil Stadium where two teams, Gujarat Gaints and Mumbai Indians played against each other. The TATA WPL, organized by the BCCI, is a major step to boost women’s cricket in the nation and it also provides opportunities for fresh cricketers to show their talents.

In the second season of TATA WPL, the tournament will take 5 women’s cricket teams to participate and each team has to go through Round robin and then a playoff round. The Women's Premier League will feature a total of 20 games and two playoff games in its opening edition, all of which will last 23 days. The competition seems to be an entertaining encounter as the players fight for the cherished championship.

The auction for the WPL 2023 took place in Mumbai on 13th February in which 1,525 female cricketers were enrolled for the bidding. The Franchisees were allowed to pick their favorites from 246 Indian players and 163 foreign players. At the bidding, contestants have been categorized into five pricing structures: Rs 50 lakh, Rs 40 lakh, Rs 30 lakh, Rs 20 lakh, and Rs 10 lakh. Smriti Mandhana became the most expensive player after being picked up by the RCB at the cost of 3.4 crores.

The opening season of the Women’s Premier League will commence on Feb 23 and will conclude on March 17, 2024. All the matches of the WPL 2024 will compete at M. Chinnaswami Stadium in Bengaluru and Arun Jaitely stadium in New Delhi.

Sports18 has purchased the broadcasting rights for Women’s Premier League 2024 and will cover all the matches Live on Television. On the other side, the JIOCINEMA application will offer online streaming of the WPL games. 

How To Buy Tickets For WPL 2024

The online selling of the tickets for WPL 2 will be available on the BCCI partner’s website BookMyShow. Tickets for cricket matches are often offered online in India, however, certain tickets are kept for offline sales. Those who intend to watch live WPL at the venue must only purchase game tickets from authorized providers. It is better and easier to book the ticket online in order to watch the game of WPL 2024 and fans can do it by visiting the official website of the tournament.
