The cricket authority of India has announced that the Men in Blue will have a tour of Ireland in August 2023 to play a bilateral T20 series. The Ireland vs India T20 series 2023 will have 3 T20s, spanning from 18 August to 23 August. This Ireland and India T20 series will serve as an opportunity for the Irish team to analyze their performance and work on enhancing their game.
All the matches of the Ire vs Ind T20 series 2023 will be held at The Village, Malahide. The T20 series will commence with the first T20 on 118 August, then both teams will meet on 20 August for the second T20 and ultimately the series will come to an end with the last match on 23 August.
Jassprit Bumrah will be the captain of the Indian team for the Ireland visit whereas Paul Stirling will handle the captaincy of Ireland. This will mark the comeback of Bumrah in International cricket after a long gap of almost 11 months. Ireland has included some key players like experienced Gareth Delany and an all-round performer, Fionn Hand in addition to Andrew Balbirnie.
On the other hand, Indian selectors have included a number of new players from the IPL. They have named Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rinku Singh, and Yashasvi Jaiswal as their main batters whereas the bowling department will be handled by Jasprit Bumrah, Manoj Kumar, Ravi Bishnoi along with Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed and Shivam Dube.
In terms of head-to-head competition in the T20I, there is no competition between both nations since Ireland has never been able to achieve a win against India in the T20I. Overall, Ireland has appeared in 152 T20Is where they achieved victory in 64 matches while losing 79.
