After a great win in the T20 series between Namibia and Uganda, the Namibia squad was all set with confidence to enter the 2 matches ODI series. The first ODI match of Namibia vs Uganda ODI series 2021 was played at Windhoek on 7 April 2021. Uganda captain won the toss and took the decision of fielding first. Namibia did not start well and lost some early wickets in the Powerplay. The captain tried to handle and struck 44 runs but he was also bowled in the 31.3 overs. Namibia came under pressure and needed a partnership. JJ Smit and Michael van Lingen played superbly and built up a crucial match-winning partnership of 132 runs for the 6th wicket that helped them to reach a total of 301 on the scoreboard. Uganda needed 302 runs to win the 1st ODI. The top order of Uganda was demolished very badly by the Namibia bowlers and they sent back 4 players at 9 runs only. Excluding Ronak Patel, no batsmen performed well and they could make only 203 runs at the end of 50 overs. Ronak Patel was excellent with the bat and added 105 runs but did not get enough support from others. Namibia won the 1st ODI by 98 runs and Ruben Trumpelmann was named Man of the Match.
The second ODI of the series between Namibia and Uganda was played at Windhoek on 8 April 2021. Namibia won the toss and decided to set the target for the opposition. Namibia started very nicely with 150 runs of partnership for the 1st wicket. Stephan Baard contributed 145 runs and Divan la Cock added 64 runs for their team. All the batsmen contributed important runs and made small but crucial partnerships that helped them to reach a big total of 355 runs in 50 overs. Uganda needed 356 runs from 50 overs to win the 2nd ODI. Uganda started the chase with the fall of the wicket and that was continued at regular intervals. Roger Mukasa and Riazat Ali Shah tried well and contributed 43, 40 runs but that was not enough. Uganda could make only 192 runs and they were all out in 44.4 overs. Namibia won the 2nd ODI by 163 runs and won the series by 2-0. Stephan Baard for his 145 runs named Man of the Match.
