Australia vs Ireland ODI Series 2016

The champion One day side Australia will be locking horns with minnows Ireland in South Africa for a single one day match. It will be testing times for the country aspiring to play regular one day matches series with the established nations. Last time when the two teams met in Stormont, Australians scraped through with a 23 runs win. Irish team would be looking to make amends however it is easier said than done. With one of the most potent attacks in the world, it will be a tough task for the Ireland to dislodge the kangaroos.

Australian team has enough fire power in batting with Warner opening the innings along with Usman Khwaja who is in the form of his life. Both have the capability to tear any opposition bowling. Even if they are out cheaply, the incoming batsman Steve smith would prove to be a thorn in the flesh for the opposition bowlers. A very special performance is required by the Ireland to beat the current Australian team.

Mitchell Starc opening the bowling attack can be a handful on any pitch for the batsmen. Ireland would have to find a way not to give early wickets or else the game would be finished before it started. Kevin O Brine would be instrumental in providing a string fillip to the middle order batting line up.

Off break bowlers can be very useful for the Irish team because Australian batsmen are inherently weak to negotiate the slow turners. It would be important for the William Port field and other bowlers to stifle the scoring rate and take wickets. Careful planning would be the need of the hour for the Ireland because if they can execute their plans well on the field, the spectators might be in for a huge surprise.
