Being held on 16th of January 2014, this match between Papua New Guinea and Uganda will be held on Pukekura Park in New Plymouth at 10:30 AM, NZDT.
In the 1900s, cricket was introduced by the London Missionaries Society to the Papua New Guinea and then, the team was formed. It was in the year 1973, that the team became an associate member of ICC and started participating in the ICC trophies and tournaments. The team has hosted several matches on an international level and has participated in several world cups over the years. Peter Anderson is he coach of the team and there are several good players in the team like Willie Gavera, Mahuru Dai, Rarua Dikana, and Jack Vare Chris Kent.
Uganda was started as an associate team of the ICC in the year 1998 and there were several tournaments, which were added by the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA). There were many programs started at school and state level, which helped in the development of cricket and the interest, was increased. This team has won several cups and tournaments and has shown its best ever since.
This match is also expected to be a very interesting one with both the teams giving their best.
