How in the whole world can Sri lanka drop Ajantha Mendis from their squad for Champion Trophy?
He is the currently best spinner Sri lanka has after the retirement of Mutthiah Murlidharan.
How did Senanayake get a place over him?
Hope this decision doesn't prove to be a massive blunder from them.
Anyways, playing XI for SriLanka will always be this (hopefully):
1. Dilshan
2. Sangakara
3. Mahela Jayawardhene
4. Angelo Matthews
5. Thisara Perera
6. Dinesh Chandimal
7. Lasith Malinga
8. Nuwan Kulasekara
9. Kushal Perera
10. Ranagana Herath
11. Senanayake.

Had they selected Ajantha Mendis, he would have taken that 11th spot for sure and is far effective than Senanayake because of his mystery and carrom balls.

According to the latest news, Angelo Mathews will lead Sri Lankan team in Champions Trophy 2013.

Oh God, What is the Sri Lanka Team doing?
Looks like they are the victim of national politics as well. With Dilshan, Sangakara and Mahela Jayawardhene in the squad, Matthews will lead the team. This will not only cause a lot of conflict in the interest of the game but will also affect their game.
Mahela would have given his captaincy, I can understand but then Sangakara has always been there.
If not them, why not go with Chandimal, he has been Under 19 captain for Sri Lanka earlier. Matthews however isn't doing much good in India as well and has to step down from his captaincy position for Pune Warriors India.
They have Thisara Perera as well who comes lower down the order at the same place where Dhoni comes in. He has good temperament as well and these qualities are do needed for a good leader.
