Ruhuna Royals Cricket Team

Ruhuna Royals is a domestic cricket team which represents Southern Province of Sri Lanka as a franchise team of Sri Lankan Premier League. The team has been purchased by Pearl Overseas Limited in the year 2012 when the team was formed along with Sri Lankan Premier League, by making a winning bid of $4.6 million. The team is been owned for seven years and after seven years a agreement is liable to be negotiated. The team possesses Mahinda Rajapaksha International Stadium as their home ground. The team is captained by Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga and Pakistani iconic player Waqar Younis has been appointed as the head coach of the team.
