Imran Tahir

Imran Tahir or Mohammad Imran Tahir is a cricketer of South African national team with a Pakistani origin. He is a right-arm leg break bowler and right-hand batsman. He began his cricketing career with the Pakistan Under-19 cricket team. But, he could not qualify for the national team. He married Sumayya Dildar of South Africa and moved there. He got eligible for playing in the South African team after staying there for 4 years. He has played in many domestic cricket tournaments and been associated with it from a very long time. He played for a short duration in many county teams like Yorkshire, Staffordshire and Middlesex. In domestic cricket, he has played for teams like Lions and Delhi Dare Devils.

Career Highlights
In 2011, Tahir was selected for the ODI series against India, but he didn’t get a chance to play. He qualified in the national team for the ICC World Cup 2013. He has made South Africa proud with his amazing bowling and has been an inspiration for the leg aspiring spinners of the nation.

• He made the Test debut in November 9, 2011 against Australia.
• In February 24, 2011, he wore the ODI cap for his national team for the first time at the South Africa versus West Indies match in New Delhi. He bagged 4 wickets in the match.
• He made his T20 International debut in 2013 against Sri Lanka at Colombo.

Career Achievements

• Imran Tahir of the Hampshire team that won the 2009 Friends Provident Trophy against Sussex in the final.
• His bowling figures in that final match were 2/50 in 10 overs.
• He wore his 100th cap in First Class cricket in the SuperSport Series I 2009.
• He was the T20 Cricketer of the Year of South Africa in 2013.
• He is one of the most successful leg spinners of South Africa.
