Chris Gayle’s stormy innings helps Tallawahs to storm to a victory - The last league match of the Caribbean Premiere League saw the Jamaica Tallawahs host the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel. This match was one of the formalities as both the teams had already qualified for the knockout stage. This match was only a decider of the position of 3rd and 4th as both the teams stood with 3 wins on their side. The home side after winning the toss elected to field first. The home side didn’t have a good start to the innings as the 1st wicket fell in the 3rd over of the game. Kevin O’Brien score 11 before getting run out. Soon the team lost the 2ndopener in the 5th over of the match just after 6 runs. The problem never stopped there as the team lost their 3rd wicket. The team was in a danger when Darren Bravo and Dwayne Bravo controlled the innings scoring 27 and 29 runs respectively. The team scored 133 runs in the 20 overs. David Bernard was the pick of the bowler taking 1 wicket by giving away only 20 runs.

The home team had a cracking start to the chase with Chris Gayle on fire. He scored 51 runs in just 25 balls and was out in the 7th over of the innings. In just 11 overs the team reached the score of 81 losing 2 wickets. The home team faced a speed breaker on the road as from 81/2 the team crashed to 96/5. It seemed that there is a twist in the tale but Danza Hyatt and Carlton Baugh control the falling apart innings and the team successfully chased the score of 134 in the last ball of the game. With this game the Tallawahs finished the league at the 3rd position while Red Steel finished in 4th. Chris Gayle was named as the player of the match for his wonderful innings.
