The 3rd of the three-match ODI series between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh was played on the 6th of March at Sylhet, in Bangladesh. On the back of a 2-0 series loss, Zimbabwe was eager to once again prove their mettle against a good Bangladeshi side.

They won the toss and decided that they will bowl first. They quickly realized that their decision went totally wrong as brilliant batting performances were delivered by in-form Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das who scored 128 runs in 109 balls and 176 runs in 143 balls respectively. Liton Das was once again praised for his outstanding inning and recent run of form. The duo single-handedly thrashed the bowlers who fell short of tricks to stop them. The Zimbabwean bowler Carl Mumba conceded staggering 69 runs in the eight overs that he bowled. All three wickets were taken by him too. Amongst other bowlers, Sikandar Raza conceded 64 runs and Donald Tiripano conceded 65 runs. It was an absolute below-par bowling performance by Zimbabwe and they were given a hefty target of 323 runs to win in the 2nd inning.

The Zimbabweans had to face defeat owing to a poor batting performance, none of the batsmen were able to score more than a total of 61 runs. Two of the best batting performances by Zimbabwe came from Sikandar Raza who scored 61 runs in 50 balls and Wesley Madhevere who scored 42 runs in 42 balls. Amongst other batsmen, Regis Chakabva scored 34 runs before all of the batsmen were sent back to the pavilion in 37.3 overs scoring a total of 218 runs. Bangladeshi bowler Mohammad Saifuddin deserved all the praise as he bagged 4 wickets allowing only 41 runs in the 6 over spell that he bowled.

The man of the match was awarded to Liton Das.
