Hyderabad registers their 1st win in the tournament chasing at Bengaluru - The 8th match of the Indian Premiere League was played in the city of Bengaluru. In this match the Royal Challengers Bangalore were hosting the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Royals were coming from a win in Kolkata while Sunrisers were coming from a loss in their 1st match. In this match after winning the toss Sunrisers decided to field first.

Batting first the opening pair of Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli provided the team a start of 43 runs in 5.3 overs. Gayle this time couldn’t perform the last match heroics as he lost his wicket after scoring only 21 runs. Dinesh Karthik too failed once again as he lost his wicket after scoring only 9 runs. Kohli though scored 41 runs in 37 balls before getting bowled in the 12th over. AB de Villiers came to the crease but wickets from the other end started falling. AB was running out of partners and so he decided to take charge to the opposition scoring 46 runs in 28 balls. With his heroics the team was able to post a sore of 166 runs in 19.5 overs. Sunrisers were able to stop the Royals by bowling them out. Trent Boult took 3 wickets for the team.

Sunrisers after bowling brilliantly turned out to be a gem with the bat as David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan scored 82 runs in 7.5 overs. Warner after scoring 57 runs in 27 balls lost his wicket. Yuzvendra Chahal came in for the Royals to give them slightest of the chance in the match taking both the wickets of Warner and Williamson. Later Dhawan and Lokesh Rahul later batted sensibly to take the team cross the boundary line. Dhawan remained not out after scoring 50 runs off 42 balls while Rahul remained not out at 44 in 28 balls. Hyderabad registered their 1st win in the 8th season of the IPL.  

David Warner won the Yes Bank Maximum sixes award and the man of the match award while Chris Gayle won the HotStar of the match for hitting the 200th six of the IPL carrier.
