Marsh hits 2 sixes in the last over to win the match for Scorchers - The Oppo Champions League T20 2014 saw the 4th match of the tournament being played at Mohali. This was a group A match played between Dolphins the team from South Africa and Perth Scorchers a team from Australia. In this match the Dolphins after winning the toss decided to bat first.

After electing to bat first the Dolphins failed to get a good start. They lost many wickets in the start of the game and hence were pushed to the back foot inside the first 6 overs. In the very first over the team lost 2 wickets in the very first over of the game. The problems for Dolphins increased in the 2nd over when they lost their 3rd wicket. Keshav Maharaj struck the ball hard scoring some important runs for the team. He scored 29 runs in 22 balls but lost his wicket in the 6th over and left his team at 45/4. Daryn Smit joined Khaya Zondo and continued scoring some runs for the team. Smit after scoring 21 runs in 14 balls lost his wicket in the 11th over leaving the team at 75/5. Later Zondo managed to score all the runs and played a different game for his team. He scored an unbeaten 63 runs innings and took his team to a total of 164 runs. Jason Behrendroff was the best bowler for Perth Scorchers as he took 3 wickets.

The Scorchers needed 165 in 20 overs and it required them to have a good start. They were successful in having so as Craig Simmons and Sam Whiteman gave the team a solid base to fire. Simmons after scoring 48 runs in 36 balls lost his wicket in the 10th over. Whiteman was joined by Mitchell Marsh and they together scored some quick runs in the game. They together took the team to 118 runs in 1t6th over. Whiteman after scoring 45 runs in 32 balls lost his wicket. The end of the game was exciting as in the last 2 balls of the game Scorchers required 12 runs to win. It saw Marsh hit the ball out of the ground twice to win the match for the team. Mitchell Marsh scored 40 runs of 26 balls.

With this win the Perth Scorchers earned 4 points in group A and Mitchell Marsh won the Oppo man of the match award winning USD 2500 as prize money. Craigg Simmons won the Suzuki Gixxer power player award for hitting maximum sixes. He won USD 2500 as prize money.
